6 Jen's Green Holiday Gift Guide

It is that time of year again and while it can be easy to get caught up in Black Friday and Cyber Monday it is important to remember that you can get some really kick ass gifts that are green.  I have put together a list of the items that I think are really fantastic this year. A lot of these are in our home or are gifts we are giving to our family and friends. I wouldn't recommend anything to you that I myself would not buy.

Here are the 10 items that would be a great addition to anyone's holiday. Click on each picture to be taken to the website where you can get more information or buy the product.

1. Soda Stream with Glass Containers
Create awesome drinks (not just limited to soda anymore) for your holiday parties. We have had one since 2011 and it has reduced the amount of waste we produce and our water footprint.

Buy it here!

2. Dolls Made From Recycled Fabrics
Give dolls to the little girls in your life with peace of mind that there are no harmful chemicals involved. If you have special clothes that you want used they will happily make the doll for you from those clothes.

3. Wool Dryer Balls
Wool dryer balls will make you excited to do laundry. And seriously, how cute are these? I think they would make awesome stocking stuffers (fitting perfectly into the toe of the stocking) or add a few onto the top of a gift as decoration instead of using bows.

Buy it here!

4. Reusable Stainless Steel K-Cup
Millions of K-cups are thrown out each day. This stainless steel reusable cup from Ekobrew fits right into the Keurig allowing you to brew your coffee without all that waste.

5. Plastic Free
I love this book. Every day it helps me to make smart choices to cut plastic out of our life. Want to up the ante? Buy the book electronically for your loved one.

Buy it here!

6. Natural Wood Toys
There is so many plastic toys on the market that are full of toxins. Give the kiddo's in your life wooden toys to ensure that they are not exposed to those toxins. This matching game is fun and safe!

7. Solar Powered Dinosaur
I bought this dinosaur for my nephew earlier in the year. It looks awesome. I think I kind of want one. If dinosaurs aren't your thing (what is wrong with you???) then check out all the other cool science toys they have!

8. Pirate Map
Pirates are big in this house and our current treasure map is tiny. Coming to a pirate near you on December 25th...the best homemade treasure map that there ever was!

9. Glass Straws
Forget about plastic straws. They are so wasteful and not nearly as cute as reusable straws. Stuff every stocking and top every gift with a cute glass straw

Buy it!

10. Litterless Lunch Items
One day these will be mine. Keeps your hot food hot with no plastic in contact with your food. You can get really cute carriers for them too!

Remember that the most eco-friendly gift is one that is really needed. Don't buy things just to buy them. Make gifts if you have that kind of talent or if you and the person who would be receiving the gift are okay with it guy something second hand. We did last year with B's train tracks and it was a great way to add sustainable gifts to our holiday and also save butt loads of cash.

What are you hoping to get this year that is eco-friendly? What have you purchased for others?
